The January 2010 issue of the british music magazine, 'The Wire' contains a six page Monolake interview, written by Derek Walmsley. The online issue hosts the complete transcription of our talk.
Due to a distribution related communication issue, the delivery of the new album CD and vinyl to many shops was a bit delayed. And iTunes is slower than we anticipated, but now its finally there. Our apologies and thank you for the patience!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Imbalance Computer Music proudly presents a new Monolake album: Silence.
The finished products left the pressing plant and are on its way to the distributors and shops. Available as nicely designed CD, double vinyl LP and as download. The iTunes release date is November 24, CD and vinyl should arrive in the shops around the same time or earlier.
As part of the Hanoi Soundscape Project 2010, Robert Henke is going to perform a multichannel composition at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, Vietnam. The source sounds for this project are field recordings currently captured in and around Hanoi. The sounds will be processed and re-arranged in order to build a slowly developing drone piece - the working title is 'Intersection'. The concert is made possible by the generous support of the Goethe Institute Hanoi.

Wave filed synthesis (WFS) is a new and exciting way of placing audio signals in a virtual space, using a concept developed around 1988 by Professor A.J. Berkhout of the University of Delft in Holland. It requires a lot of computing power and a ring consisting of a lot of speakers around the audience. WFS is still pretty much a research domain due to high cost of such a system. In Berlin there are several systems installed; at the Technical University and also one at Globus(Tresor), a techno club. The company who built that system, IOSONO, invited Monolake to do a show, exploring what can be done with such powerful technology in a club context.
'IOSONO at Tresor - Finissage - The Art of Clubbing in 3D Sound' - Date: December 10 2009.

No more MySpace. It is a monopoly, owned by a highly questionable figure, it is ugly like hell, it uses music as a hook for advertisement and it is a huge waste of time.
Public urban areas such as parks and other accessible open air spaces are faced with an increasing number of persons that do neither consume nor use the space in its intended transitorial function. Typically those persons occupy spaces for a prolonged period of time, thus creating a potential source of irritation. Read more...

The new 12" on imbalance. Atlas Titan. A sign of life from the Monolake side of things. Already almost sold out, and got some very euphoric reviews.
Since monolake and roberthenke are already tken, I thought it might be a good idea to reserve robert_henke. Do not expect anything meaningful there in the near future. Or ever.
I accepted a position as permanent guest lecturer at the University of Arts (UdK) here in Berlin: From April on I will teach students sound design and related topics at the Sound Studies department.
I am currently working with Christopher Bauder and others on an interactive 3D presentation system for Lufthansa. Spend my days modeling the sound of airplanes passing by. The whole system is more or less a advanced game engine and I design the audio part of it, technically as well as sound-wise.

We had a sucessful Atom performance and Atom/Document CD release party at Berghain. The first performance was sold out, and it was very packed with 500 people plus the balloons. Later we did a second, more improvised and rougher performance for those who could not come in for the first show.
